Tony Soprano is dead.  James Gandolfini, the actor known for playing the troubled mob boss on HBO’s hit drama was on vacation in Italy when he died suddenly of a heart attack on Wednesday.  He was 51. Gandolfini won three Emmys for his work on “The Sopranos,” which ran six seasons on HBO.  He recently appeared in the movies “Zero Dark Thirty” and “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone.”  His other credits include the films “True Romance,” “Get Shorty” and “Where The Wild Things Are.”  
Gandolfini is survived by his wife Deborah Lin, their infant daughter and a teenage son from a previous marriage.  It was his son who reportedly called for help yesterday, after witnessing his father in cardiac arrest.  He was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.  An autopsy is slated to be performed after which time officials in Rome will issue a death certificate.  Under Italian law, only then can the New Jersey native’s body be returned to the United States.
