Ashimba is one of Tanzania´s most talented singer songwriters. He has a passion for intricate and complex compositions. His sound borrows from the West African griot traditions fused with his own unique style of playing and Swahili, and Sukuma compositions. He has toured in Europe several times and just like the rest of the lineup for this edition of THE BEAT, he has just returned from performing at the Bayimba regional festival in Jinja, Uganda.

Mzungu Kichaa is in his final preparations to embark on his European tour this summer with his Tanzanian backing band Bongo Beat. This will be one of his last concerts in Dar before the tour and will showcase some of the new material that they have prepared for the tour.
