Federations urged to develop Airte Risings Stars soccer talents
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania 26th April 26, 2014 … Football Federations have been urged to place more emphasizes on the youth football programs with the aim to lay down a strong foundation for the development of soccer develop in African countries, citing the Airtel Rising Stars initiative as key drive towards success.
These remarks were aired today by Tanzania soccer legends Zamonyoni Mogella and Abeid Mziba who visited and observed the ongoing Manchester United soccer training which was launched last Wednesday by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Coorperation Hon Mahadhi Juma Maalim.
Mogella and Mziba who made headline during their reign in the early 1980s commended Airtel and Manchester United for partnership which will help transform the standard of soccer in the continent.
The five-day clinic brings together over 7o participants, girls and boys, from Kenya, Sierra Leone, DRC, Congo Brazaville, Chad, Niger, Gabon, Madagascar, Burkina Faso and the host – Tanzania.
The clinic gives the youngsters a rare opportunity to enjoy the wealth of football experience from Manchester United soccer schools curriculum which seeks to produce well balanced soccer players who can play attractive attacking game. The program is expected to dwell on technical, physical and behavioral aspects of football.
The Clinic is part of a sponsorship agreement between Manchester United and Airtel Africa. The Manchester United Soccer Schools has been in existence for 12 years and delivers programs such as this to over 120,000 students around the world. Each coach is specially trained to teach youth how to play the Manchester United way.
